On May 25, 2024, Goats of Glacier proudly swung open its gates to the public, marking the culmination of months of hard work and dedication. From the initial vision in September 2023 to the grand opening day, the journey was fraught with challenges and triumphs, all of which underscored the commitment of our team and the unwavering support of the community.
The brainchild of a group of passionate individuals, Goats of Glacier was born from a desire to create a space where nature and agriculture intersect. Led by Farm Manager Carter Harris, construction began in earnest in the fall of 2023. Despite facing countless hurdles along the way, Carter’s dedication and expertise were instrumental in bringing the project to fruition. By December 2, 2023, the framework was in place, setting the stage for the final push towards opening day.
In the weeks leading up to May 25th, the farm buzzed with activity as the team raced against the clock to put the finishing touches in place. With deadlines looming and a seemingly endless to-do list, the atmosphere was nothing short of frenetic. Yet, fueled by a shared sense of purpose, everyone rallied together, determined to make the grand opening a success.
As the big day dawned, there was a palpable sense of anticipation in the air. Despite the uncertainties surrounding the weather and the turnout, spirits remained high as we prepared to welcome our first visitors. And then, as if by fate, the community showed up in droves. Despite the rain and cold of Memorial Day Weekend, over 500 people descended upon Goats of Glacier, eager to experience all that we had to offer.
Their enthusiasm was infectious, and their feedback overwhelmingly positive. From families seeking a fun day out to curious locals eager to support a new venture, the turnout spoke volumes about the impact Goats of Glacier was already having on the community.
As we reflect on the journey that brought us to this moment, we are filled with gratitude for everyone who played a part in making it possible. From Carter and his tireless dedication to the countless volunteers who lent a helping hand, each and every person contributed to the success of the grand opening.
Moving forward, we are excited to continue sharing the magic of Goats of Glacier with the world. With new experiences and opportunities on the horizon, we look forward to welcoming even more visitors through our gates in the days and weeks to come.
Please add a MAP showing where the site is located. Hand-drawn is fine. But indicate major roads and proximity to Glacier N.P. and largest urban city nearby. (I know Dustin!)
